the cutaway stache.
I’ve seen what I call the ‘cutaway stache’ on quite a few guys. i call it cutaway because that’s exactly whats being done. the unwanted area is bring cut away so their moustache doesn’t get in their mouth. Which is 100% understandable. especially as a man with a large moustache himself. However I don’t think it looks the best and maybe it’s just my bias towards full untouched moustache. A straight lined being trimmed across the forefront of the beard is a bit distracting and breaks the flow. Perhaps its part of my hair cutting background but I really appreciate a good cut that flows as a whole.
I wanted to share a better option that was shown to me by whoknowswhereorwhen, or Scott as he’s known in real life. What he does instead of cutting a straight line across is simply angle his trimmer from the divot downwards. It helps keep the hair directly above your mouth out of the way while eating but keeps integrity of the moustache.
Hopefully some of you find this helpful.
